Marc Stein of ESPN has reported that the Knicks have made a four-year contract offer to Charlotte Hornets guard Courtney Lee.
The 30-year-old shooting guard, who split time with the Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies last season, averaged 9.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 79 games and started in 65 of them.
Lee was a part of a three-team deal at the trade deadline that helped Charlotte make a run towards the postseason; they lost in seven games to the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs.
With the Knicks looking for a shooting guard due to Arron Afflalo opting out of his deal, Lee is one of several players the Knicks have had their eye on in the start of free agency; New Orleans Pelicans' Eric Gordon is also on their radar, but he may sign elsewhere. Kent Bazemore was of interest to them as well, but he re-signed with the Atlanta Hawks.
